Crafty Hands Art / Craft Project

In about 2010, we decided we wanted to do something extra and hands on. So with this in mind, we decided to pilot a Craft Project in Bodelwyddan for 8-11 year olds.

Bodelwyddan is a rural village, with no alternative age appropriate activities for the children, leaving them socially isolated. So, with the right location', we obtained Awards for all grants and Becky Williams, who is an artist in her own right was chosen to run this project as she had a considerable track record providing and running other similar schemes.

Initially Becky provided general age appropriate crafts, sharing her experience showing the children many skills which they soon picked up and developed gaining even more skills including good citizenship and leadership. Soon the children were asking if we could provide other styles of art / craft so over the past 5 years they have gone from basic to far more sophisticated, gaining even more skills such as good citizenship and leadership.

We believe that one of the greatest gifts a child can posses is a fertile imagination. With a vivid imagination art knows no boundaries. We hope that through our art / craft project sessions the children will have the opportunity to develop multi skills and gain vast experiences using a variety of styles and techniques delivered by professional artists.

We hope our sessions are the building blocks necessary for them to take forward in all walks of their lives.
